CONCEALED DESIRE is the perfect example of not waiting for the "right moment" to be honest about your desires.
Beth has been attracted to Dean since she first met him. Dean has been unable to stop thinking about Beth since they shared an unexpected kiss. But the obstacles for these two abound: 1) Dean is Beth's boss; 2) Beth knows Dean doesn't do anything more serious than one night stands; 3) Beth can't stop thinking about the tons of women Dean has been with; 4) Dean is fearful of sharing his feelings and pushing Beth away.
But now, the head of the company, and Dean's father, has suggested he and Beth consider a mutually pleasurable relationship outside of work. The proposition throws Beth for a loop and leaves her needing support, which Dean is eager to provide. Beth and Dean finally give in to their attraction to one another but there are still questions about Dean's ability to be faithful and Dean's true motivations for pursuing Beth. Dean's father tries to get Beth to believe that Dean is merely using her and Beth can't help but wonder. When things go wrong, Beth wants to move on quickly so she is unwilling to hear Dean's explanations. Her stubbornness may cost her true love.
I really enjoyed this story and Beth and Dean's relationship. The varied emotions that were felt by the two main characters were honest and believable. The doubt, passion, fun, anger, and jealousy were all very well written and helped to make the relationship feel more genuine.
The only character that I did not get a good feel for was Dean's father. His motives and behaviors throughout most of the story were not very clear and not very likeable. But it was his actions that prompted, or pushed, Beth and Dean into their relationship, so it's ok. This was a great story that was fun, sweet, passionate, and emotional.
