A beautiful Caribbean resort, a high-end matchmaking service, and two hot guys from her past provide Carly with quite an adventure in ISLAND PLEASURES.
This story is part of a multi-author series of books that includes over 100 works. ISLAND PLEASURES is my first. While not knowing character background did not impede me from enjoying this story, there were some references made that I did not understand.
Still, this particular story was hot and sweet! Carly and Quinn shared one night together in college and then never saw each other again. Now, Carly's latest work assignment as a magazine columnist has brought her to the hotel where Quinn works. The two of them reconnect and share another passionate night together with the help of their other old college friend, Woody. Their 1 Night is passionate, but it appears history is about to repeat itself.
I liked that the instant attraction to one another was explained by a shared past and that the author was able to work those details into such a short story. The characters and the plot were fun; in a longer story, the undercover journalist plot could have really been played out to its full mischievous potential. The author also did a good job of writing the warring emotions of lust and attraction versus hurt and betrayal. The only part of the story that left me unfulfilled was Woody and his future, but the rest was great.
