Let Me In

This was a very sweet book about letting down your guard to allow yourself to be loved and cherished. It was well-written with deep emotions and lots of hot and steamy!
Talia is a woman from a broken family who closely guards her emotions. She doesn’t really trust that anyone will ever be able to fully love and accept her, so she does her best to keep people at a distance. She is surprised to find her friends Angie and Liam Brodie waiting at the airport for her when she comes home at Thanksgiving. She has only known the Brodies for a few years, but Angie, Liam, and their parents have shown Talia more love in that short time than she has known her whole life. She has a hard time believing that some of their actions towards her are not just out of sympathy, but she loves being a part of their lives. Despite their ever present attraction to each other, she set boundaries with Liam because she didn’t want to risk losing the rest of the Brodie family if things didn’t go well with Liam. In the past Liam has always accepted and respected those boundaries, but now he senses something different in Talia and decides to push her a little.
In the course of trying to get closer to Talia, Liam discovers what it is about her mother that Talia has been trying to hide from everyone. At first Talia is mortified, but than she welcomes the comfort Liam can offer her. Comfort quickly turns to passion and the two of them finally share some heated moments. Liam believes that this means he and Talia are getting closer, but Talia quickly rebuilds her walls and pushes Liam away. Liam is determined to break down Talia’s defenses and keeps pushing her boundaries and refusing to back off when she tells him. The question is, how long can Liam handle being rejected and emotionally shut off from the woman he loves? Talia has to go through a lot of emotional upheaval with her mother and Liam before she realizes she can allow herself to be loved.
