Consent to Love

I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought the concepts of interracial dating and traditional Native American culture were both captured quite well. There were a couple of spots where I felt the story was jumpy and maybe the main characters were not expressing their feelings and emotions well; but mostly it was a good, easy read.
Ana finds herself instantly attracted to Kane, but quickly puts up walls because she has been known to fall for guys too quickly and give them everything she has. This has resulted in her having her heart broken numerous times, which she vows to not let happen again. Kane is instantly attracted to Ana, but puts up walls because he does not believe a white woman would be happy in his life. Kane had his heart broken when he decided love was more important than his people and his culture, which he vows to not let happen again.
Despite both their efforts, the attraction cannot be denied. They decide to act upon their attraction to one another, but with no strings attached. After a couple of days together, they both realize that this attraction is more than just sexual and that they want to spend more time together. Their relationship progresses, but Kane is still worried Ana will leave him because she will want more out of life than living with him on his reservation. Because of his doubts and fears, Kane pushes Ana away and she eventually leaves. The time apart gives both of them time to think about what they really want and need from one another; but is it too late?
