I wish I could give it 6 stars. That's not to say there weren't parts that I didn't like or didn't agree with, but overall it was just a great story. Lassiter was probably my favorite character in this book and he is a large part of my 5 star rating. I enjoyed seeing some of his more serious and focused side, without giving up his hysterical humor. I’m glad the Qhuinn seems to be coming around, but I’m not sure about what’s happening with him and Layla. And speaking of Layla- could something really good please happen to this girl. Wrath is fantastic as usual and the cameos by V and Rhage were most enjoyable. Tohr’s journey is heartbreaking, but wonderful to see come to it’s conclusion. And I’m glad John was such a significant part of Tohr’s healing. Oh, and Xhex and John’s story was so real and wonderful. And another wonderful development was Xhex and No’One’s relationship. I’m not sure yet how I feel about Xcor and Throe. There was a part of me that wanted to like each of them at different times, but then there were times that I felt there was no goodness in them at all. I do think Assail will be an interesting character to see develop. I definitely think it’s time for another Brotherhood initiation ceremony!
