So, I find myself getting somewhat bored with the Sookie Stackhouse books. In each book someone is trying to kill Sookie, usually because of her acquaintance with vampires and weres. She questions her choice to surround herself with violent creatures and generally disagrees with their way of living. She considers trying to separate herself from the vampires, but just can't do it because she needs them or loves them. Her relationship, which is with either a vampire or a were animal, is threatened due to the politics and violent natures of the creatures she associates with. I enjoy the writing and I enjoy the characters, but the repetitive story is making me lose some of my excitement for this series. I'm not ready to give up on it yet, but I also don't find myself anxiously awaiting the next book, either.
Started the second Krewe of Hunters books- can't wait to get into it.
