I'm fairly certain I've said this before, but I really like Heather Graham's stories, especially the Harrison Investigations ones. She combines the supernatural with a perfect amount of mystery and romance. Phantom Evil, her first Harrison spin-off, has not disappointed so far:
Adam Harrison has sent a team of six varied individuals to head to New Orleans to investigate the death of a Senator David Holloway's wife, Regina. Some think it was suicide while others speculate a ghost dwelling in their old, haunted house may have been involved. The couples' home has seen murder and tragedy, and once housed a serial killer. Adam's team is headed by Jackson Crow, an agent from a Behavioral Science Unit, who recently lost a number of fellow agents while on an assignment. The rest of the team includes Angela Hawkins, a police officer, Whitney Tremont, a camera operator, Jake Mallory, a musician, Jenna Duffy, a nurse, and Will Chan, a magician.
One by one the team arrives at the Holloway's home in the French Quarter. Upon Angela's arrival she is immediately drawn to the basement where she makes a gruesome discovery. The team learns some about the house, the senator and his family, and the beliefs of others regarding what happened to Regina.
