Summary:
Nikki and Rook go to question Toby again because he was listed as one of Esteban's limo customers. Jess Ripton, Toby's manager, refuses to let them talk to him. Rook talks to Raley and Ochoa about the article he wrote and tries to mend fences with them. They discover a connection between Towne and Esteban. Rook gets jealous of Petar and investigates him; he discovers some dirt in his past. Nikki gets a call from Towne's book editor saying his wife caught someone trying to break in; Nikki goes to help. Rook and Nikki discover what book Towne was working on and that her editor way lying to them. The editor admits he has the manuscript, all but the last chapter, and offers it to Nikki. They discover that Reed's death may not be an accidental overdose, as thought. Nikki brings Soleil into the precinct for questioning, but her lawyer won't allow it to happen and accuses Nikki of stalking Soleil. The manifest for limo rides the night Reed died is missing. Holly comes to visit Rook and tells him that his article about Towne shouldn't make her sound like a total monster. Raley finds a surveillance tape of the person who stole Towne's manuscript; it was Soleil. Soleil runs when confronted by Nikki. Soleil admits she feels guilty about what happened the night of Reed's death; but she doesn't elaborate. Raley and Ochoa go to talk to Pablo again and make a surprising discovery. Nikki finds out that Toby's stalker, Morris Granville, was arrested and asked specifically to talk to Nikki. Morris shared he saw Soleil and Reed fighting the night Reed died. Rook works on his magazine article about Towne and tries to figure out where she might have put the last chapter of her book. Rook goes to Towne's apartment and, after some investigating, discovers a key. Rook finds the final chapter.
