Reading Nook

So I think we've decided to turn a portion of our very long bedroom into a cozy reading corner.  I am very excited and hope it gets put to use once complete.  I will post pictures to keep everyone apprised of progress.  Step one is trying to GET RID OF some books.  I am going to start doing some inventory and get rid of some books that I know I will never pick up again.  This will not be an easy task for me- but it must be done. 

Naked Heat- Chapters 10-12
   Summary:
Nikki and Rook meet with Raley and Ochoa to review new information.  Raley and Ochoa are put on pursuit of information regarding Esteban, the first murder victim.  Esteban's family is hesitant to talk to the police.  Nikki questions Soleil about some inconsistencies with her story for the night of Towne's murder.  Nikki runs into an old boyfriend, Petar, who is working on the show that Soleil is appearing on.  Petar shares he was friendly with Towne and that she planned on writing a tell-all book about someone.  Raley and Ochoa meet Pablo, Esteban's nephew, and he gives them some useful information.  Nikki questions Towne's book editor but he denies knowing any specific information.  Nikki discovers some secret information about Rook.  They discover Esteban was a limo driver who was recently fired from his job and was suing the company.  Nikki gets an ID on the guy who kidnapped her and Rook, his name is Rance Eugene Wolf.  Raley and Ochoa interview the lawyer Esteban hired to sue his employer.  He says Esteban recently called off the law suit.  They go to interview the limo service, they say he was let go for insubordination to passengers, but couldn't identify which passengers. 

Dreams of a Dark Warrior- Chapters 1-15
   Summary:
The prologue is some back story into the first time Regin and Aidan meet; she is 12 and going to him for assistance because she is looking for her sister Lucia.  Aidan immediately feels a connection to Regin and tells her that when she is grown she will be his wife.  Aidan, who is a berserker, a mortal with extra strength, promises he will earn his immortality by winning may battles and they will be forever together.  Regin runs from Aidan but returns to find him 9 years later.  They develop a relationship but cannot have sex because Aidan will not earn him immortality if he sleeps with her before they are married, and he won't marry her without earning his immortality.  After a fierce battle and almost dying Aidan returns and sleeps with Regin before he can calm himself.  A vampire attacks them and Aidan is killed.  As he is dying he makes his best friend Brandr vow he will watch over Regin and he promises Regin he will find his way back to her.  For years after that Aidan is reincarnated over and over again and always finds his way to Regin; but he dies as soon as they sleep together each time.  Present day, Declan Chase is scoping out Regin to capture her to take to his Order facility where he imprisons and experiments on immortals.  Nix, another Valkyrie, sends Regin into a fight to kill some enemies; she ends up being captured by Declan.  Regin immediately recognizes Declan as Aidan.  Declan begins feeling an odd attraction to Regin.  Regin is taken to the facility and put into a cell with a fey assassin and a catatonic boy.  Declan is visited by Kelli Dixon, a doctor that works for the Order.  She brings him specially designed medication that keeps him weak and helps him sleep.  Declan works to hide from people the fact that he has unusual strength and speed.  Declan watches, via video monitor, Regin's cell.  She awakens and meets Natalya the Shadow, an enemy of the Valkyrie.  Regin and Natalya form an alliance and Natalya shares information about the facility.  The boy in the cell with them just bangs his head against they wall, they don't know what he is.  Regin wants to escape but Natalya says the only reason people get out of their cells is to be questioned, experimented on, or killed.  Regin and Natalya speak in an ancient language that Declan can't understand; it upsets him.  Declan talks to Webb, his boss and father-like figure, on the phone; Webb commends Declan for his captures.  He tells Declan to question Regin as soon as possible to try to find out some weaknesses of the Valkyrie.  Webb informs Declan he is coming soon for a visit.  Declan flashes back to when he was 17 running with a gang in Ireland; he was addicted to drugs and decided to steal from his parents to get money for more drugs.  When he arrives at his parents house he finds his brother dead and his parents being attacked by monsters.  Declan is attacked, too, but is saved by Webb.  Webb tells Declan about immortals and initiates him into the Order.  Declan makes rounds at the facility with Dixon giving him updates on new prisoners that have come in while he was capturing Regin.  Declan is made aware of an immortal berserker in the facility, Brandr; when they see each other Brandr calls Declan Aidan and warns him to stay away from Regin.  When Declan sees Regin again he is turned on, something that hasn't happened since he began taking his medication.  Regin tells Natalya all about Aidan and that Declan is Aidan.  Regin said she just has to get Declan to kiss her to remember her; and then he would likely die soon after.  Regin is torn by this plan because she does not want Aidan to die again.  Declan interrogates Lothaire, an ancient vampire.  He warns Declan that she, Dorada, is going to come for the ring that Declan took from Lothaire when he captured him.  Declan tortures Lothaire but he gives up no information.  The boy in the cell with Regin wakes up and starts asking questions; they learn his name is Thad and he has no idea what he is or why he is there.  Regin sees Uilleam MacRieve, a Lykae and ally being dragged down the hall after being tortured.  Declan becomes paranoid when Lothaire tells him he is not an ordinary human.  Regin is taken into interrogation; she sees Brandr on her way.  Declan tortures Regin but she refuses to share any information.  When Declan asks why he was called Aidan she says he will have to bring her to his rooms to get any answers.  Declan has Regin brought to his office.  Regin tells Declan he is Aidan reincarnated; she tells him about their past.
