Forgot

So I almost forgot today was release day for Pale Demon by Kim Harrison.  I got a galley of this book a couple months ago so I wasn't doing my usual Rachel countdown.  This is one of my favorite series ever!  I will be glad when my friends who also follow this series get the book read so I have people to discuss it with.

Clockwork Angel- Chapters 3-5
   Summary:
Tessa wakes up with two people in a room with her, at an unknown location.  She learns she is with Charlotte Branwell and Brother Enoch at the London Institute.  Charlotte tells Tessa what she knows about her; also informs her of outcomes of fight at Dark House.  Charlotte says there is no sign of Nate.  Charlotte gives Tessa some basic information about Nephilim, the Shadowhunters, and what they do.  Charlotte tells Tessa she is a Downworlder, they just don't know what kind.  Tessa is upset that Charlotte doesn't know more, and therefore can't help Tessa understand more.  Charlotte offers Tessa a place to stay and help finding her brother.  Tessa has dinner with Charlotte, Will, Jessamine, and Henry; they give her some more information and ask her a lot of questions.  She learns of the Pandemonium Club, an organization of mundanes, regular humans, who practice and study magic; the Sisters were part of the Club.  They discover a connection between a girl the Sisters had her Change into and an investigation Will was doing.  Tessa gets lost on her way back to her room and Will finds her; he gives her a tour of the house and answers more questions about Shadowhunters.  Tessa meets Thomas who is not a Shadowhunter but is trained like one and works at the Institute.  Will gives Tessa The Shadowhunter's Codex, which tells everything about the Shadowhunters.  Tessa is learning there are exceptions to everything she learned growing up about the role of women and the relationship people have with servants.  Tessa tells Will she knows him and Will says she doesn't and storms off.  Tessa reads The Shadowhunter's Codex.  She is woken up by violin music and finds Jem playing.  They talk about Jem's family and where he is from.  Tessa shares she was 3 when her parents died and she was raised by her Aunt Harriet.  Will comes in after supposedly being out for the night drinking; Jem gets sick and Will asks Tessa to leave.  Tessa talks to Sophie, a servant, about life at the Institute.  Jem and Will are asked to go check the Sisters' house again; Charlotte and Henry are going to question Nate's employer, Axel Mortmain, about Nate's disappearance.  Jessamine offers to take Tessa shopping; Tessa discovers Jessamine doesn't like the Institute.  Charlotte and Henry go to see Mr. Mortmain and he surprises them.
