DARK DESIRE IN ELK'S CROSSING addresses the challenges of being attracted to two men at once and whether or not you can keep desire and lust from turning to love.
Annika has been attracted to her boss, Sven, from the beginning. She has not allowed her attraction to manifest itself because Sven is not only her boss, but he is also known as being a womanizer who rarely spends more than a night with a woman. Annika does not want to risk opening her heart to someone who she is sure could break it.
When Annika and Sven meet their new business partner, Josh, Annika is attracted to him as well. Again, she has reservations about getting involved with someone she has to work with, but Josh is aggressive in his pursuits. Once Sven sees Josh and Annika developing a relationship, he is unwilling to sit back and watch the woman he has been longing for slip through his fingers.
This story is hot, hot, hot! The character development was good, giving us some insight into the thoughts and feelings of the three main characters. I would have enjoyed seeing a little more plot and relationship development as the story moved very quickly. The men's seduction of Annika and the way in which they get her to come around to the idea of a relationship was quite entertaining to read. It was not necessary to read the first Elk's Crossing book to enjoy this one.
