THE FETISH BOX: WHAT ESCAPES is the second steamier installment of a young woman's discovery of her self and her sexuality.
I enjoyed part two of this short series better than the first part as much more plot development happened. Mary has finally lost her virginity and is now exploring her feelings for her new lover, John. To complicate matters, she is also exploring her feelings for her business partner, Max. While Mary is trying to sort through her feelings for John and Max, she is also learning about running her newly-inherited sex shop. Mary takes an immediate liking to the shop and all the people that work there, which makes it all the more devastating when someone vandalizes the shop and hurts one of her employees, and one of her new friends. No one can figure out why the attack happened or who did it before the danger spreads to Mary's new home.
I felt that emotions were displayed beautifully in this part of the story. John is struggling with how quickly he is feeling attached to Mary. Mary is struggling with feeling attracted to two men. Max is struggling with feeling anything towards Mary because he doesn't want to get involved with someone he could actually care about. All of these emotions bring the characters to life on the page.
I am very much anticipating part three and seeing whether or not all of the emotional puzzle pieces will fit together.
