I just read the final two books in the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber, 1105 Yakima Street and 1225 Christmas Tree Lane. This was an unexpectedly terrific series that I loved every second of. I accidentally stumbled across this series in the romance section of my local library. I needed a new book to read, had nothing specific in mind, but thought I'd like a romance. 16 Lighthouse Road caught my eye and I decided to give it a try. I was immediately pulled in to the story despite the fact that it was not the style of romance I was used to reading. While each book in this series primarily focuses on one couple, it includes so many aspects of those around them and the town of Cedar Cove that there is not the traditional romance feeling. The style of writing kept the story flowing and the reader interested. I said many times while I was reading this series that I felt like a member of the community listening to town gossip as I was reading each book.
I am happy to have found this series even though I am sad that it is now gone and there will be no more updates on the diverse people of this tiny town. I am very happy with the last books and the ending of the series as a whole. I felt like there was a nice, satisfying wrap-up to all of the people that I had become involved with over the years. Debbie Macomber hit a home run with this series and I am glad that I discovered it.
