Storytelling

I love that Patricia Briggs incorporates Native American storytelling into her books- it is great.

River Marked- Chapters 10-11
   Summary:
Mercy and Adam go to Stonehenge as per Coyote's plan.  They meet Jim, Calvin, Hank, Fred, and Coyote.  Calvin and Jim set up, per Coyote's instructions; they tell Adam and Mercy they need them to change.  Calvin reports he looked into recent deaths along the river and there has been a huge increase; the FBI has been called to investigate a possible serial killer.  Jim and Calvin do the ceremony necessary to call Coyote's friends for help.  Mercy gets pulled from the magic and is visited by Coyote's sisters; they give her some insight into what is going to happen.  Six Indian men appear and Coyote asks for help with river devil.  One of them helps Hank.  The man known as Wolf upsets Adam and he bites him.  The men argue about what the best course of action might be; they agree to help.  Adam realizes there are consequences for biting Wolf.  River devil calls to Mercy and tries to make a deal with her; Mercy refuses.
