Fun

I adore Carly Phillips' writing.  Everything I read by her just leaves me with a good feeling.

Kiss Me If You Can- Chapters 1-10
   Summary:
Sam Cooper, "Coop," stops a robbery at a jewelry store and reluctantly accepts a ring as a reward from the daughter of the store owner.  A co-worker of his tells him it is worth more than he realized.  Lexie Davis sees Coop on the news accepting the ring and notices the ring matches a necklace of her grandmothers.  Her grandmother sees the news footage, too; she reacts oddly to it.  Lexie seeks out Coop so she can buy the ring from him to give to her grandmother for her birthday.  Due to his heroics, Coop is made the main subject of the Bachelor Blog.  Coop investigates the ring and makes a surprising discovery.  When Lexie approaches Coop he is hesitant because he has been getting mobbed by women who have seen him on the Blog.  Coop agrees to discuss the ring with Lexie; he shares with her what he discovered.  Coop and Lexie decide to work together to find out the true story of the ring.  Coop gets a call from the jewelry store owner asking for the ring back because it has sentimental value.  Coops apartment is broken into.  Pictures surface of Coop and Lexie looking at the ring together and the Bachelor Blog reports marriage may be on the way.  Lexie's grandmother, Charlotte, and her best friend, Sylvia, question her about Coop and encourages her to pursue the relationship.  Lexie goes to check on Coop after hearing about his apartment and sparks fly between them.  Lexie and Coop spend some time together getting to know each other better; they discuss family and jobs.  Charlotte invites Coop to dinner; she is evasive when he asks about her necklace.  Coop does some research into the Lancaster family, the original owners of the ring and necklace.  Lexie and Coop wonder if Lexie's deceased grandfather came about the necklace in a bad way.  Lexie spends some time with Coop's friend and neighbor, Sara, who cautions Lexie against hurting Coop.  Coop and Lexie spend a hot night together.  Ricky, the jewelry store owner, calls again about getting the ring back.  Lexie gets upset when she discovers Coop wants to write a book or story about the jewels and their history.  Coop and Lexie decide to confront her grandmother with what they've learned about the ring and see if she has more information.  Charlotte and Sylvia both act strange when discussion of the ring and necklace happens.  Ricky hides while his daughter is visited by two people from his past.  Lexie reads Coop's novel and critiques.  Coop finds Lexie making plans to leave town and gets upset.
