The end... for now

What kind of way is that to end a book, or a series?  The end... for now.  Karen Marie Moning is just mean!  Great book, great series.

Shadowfever- Chapters 25-54 (the end)
   Summary:
Mac decides she wants to go back to the White Mansion to search for some more information; Barrons goes with her.  Mac feels pulled to the king’s bedchamber when she gets there.  She makes a couple of unexpected discoveries, one being Christian MacKeltar, the other being that she can go through a Silver that supposedly only the Unseelie King and his concubine can go through.  Mac makes a connection between dreams she had as a child and the place she is in the White Mansion.  Mac brings back with her a woman she found in a coffin, who is not quite dead.  Barrons suspects V’lane of some wrongdoing towards the Seelie Queen.  Barrons and Mac take the recovered woman, who may be the Seelie Queen, to Chester’s.  Mac sees the dreamy-eyed guy and questions what he is.  V’lane and the Keltars argue over who should guard the queen; the Keltars move into Chesters.  Fiona appears and asks for Mac’s help; she gives it.  Everyone works to rescue Christian as he is needed to trap the Book again.  Lor and Ryoden threaten Mac away from Barrons; they say whoever learns their secrets has to die.  Mac gets to visit with her parents and finds out they are being treated well.  There are lots of conflicts in the planning to capture the book; no one trusts anyone else.  Ro and other from the abbey, V’lane, the Keltars, Barrons and his men, and Mac all try to work together.  Mac throws a birthday party for herself and Dani.  Dani shares more about the prophecies and about Mac’s family.  Dani is attacked and Mac has to make a bargain to save her life.  Mac finds out who killed her sister, and who led her to her death.  Barrons help Mac process this new information.  The first plan to capture the Book is put into action; the Book outsmarts them.  Barrons shares some information with Mac about what happened the night the Book escaped.  He also presents her with a big surprise.  Mac finds the missing page of the second prophecy.  She goes looking for Barrons to tell him and discovers a secret.  Mac gets hurt and nearly dies; her and Barrons figure out why she doesn’t and why she heals from injuries quickly.  Mac and Barrons reconnect and share some of their true feelings for each other.  Mac finds out why Barrons is so desperate to get the Book.  When Mac and Barrons emerge from his bedroom a few days later they find they have surprise guests in the bookstore.  These guests make lots of revelations about Mac’s past; she is excited to learn these things.  Mac realizes her guests are not who they claimed to be.  The Book makes another appearance, with Ro.  Mac gets some answers about how the Book escaped, traitor in the abbey, and the death of her sister.  Mac works to imprison the Book but is worried about how Barrons will react.  There are arguments about what should be done with the Book and how it should be guarded.  The true identities of multiple people are revealed; the Unseelie King makes an appearance.  The Sinsar Dubh changes from a book to a person; the abbey is charged with guarding him.  Things in Dublin start to slowly change, but they do not go back to the way they were.  The walls are down and people are making changes based on that.  Mac figures out a way to help Barrons after feeling like she let him down by not getting the Book for him.  Mac’s parents decide to live in Dublin, which makes her happy.  Her life takes on some normalcy.
