Just One Kiss

by Susan Mallery

JUST ONE KISS, the 11th novel in the Fool's Gold series, is a classic story about second chances and following your heart.

This book brings us the story of Patience and Justice who are exploring a second chance at love. Patience fell in love with Justice when she was a young girl but Justice disappeared from Fool's Gold without a trace before she could ever tell him how she felt. Now, Justice has returned to the town and the girl he could never forget. When he explains he was in the witness protection program Patience is able to forgive him, but can she open her heart to him again? Justice isn't sure, with his past, that he is deserving of love and a family, but he is drawn to Patience and her daughter and the life they offer. When Justice's past comes back to haunt him and Patience he is certain he can't have his happy ending.

I adore the Fool's Gold series- I want to live there and I want Mayor Marsha to be my grandmother! Susan Mallery writes unique characters and fantastic love stories. What takes these stories from good to great is the town and the relationships between all of the people that live there. If someone needs help, the town is there; when someone is broken-hearted, the town is there; if a baby is born, the town is there. The friendships are just as important as the romances in Fool's Gold.

In this story we get introduced to Justice and his hot buddies who are moving to town to open a bodyguard training facility. The new characters are original, which is a challenge when you are 11 books into a series. Patience and her mother and daughter are living a peaceful and happy life when Justice returns to town. This relationship is fun and unique because these two characters knew each other, and fell for each other, when they were teenagers. However, at the time, Justice wasn't able to be honest with Patience about who he was or what was going on in his life. So now they have to integrate the feelings they had for each other into the new people they are as adults. Ms. Mallery draws me into this town every time I pick up one of these books.
