QUID PRO QUO, the first of the Market Garden books, is a perfect blend of desire, lust, excitement, and fun.
This book was fantastic. I absolutely love the unusual way in which these two characters, Jared and Tristan, are brought together and allowed to explore their lust for one another. The two of them work as prostitutes at Market Garden. But in between jobs to pay the bills, Jared has been admiring Tristan and building quite the crush on him. Jared's fantasies are brought to life when a wealthy gentleman wants to hire the two of them together. While Jared is able to satisfy some of his desire for Tristan, he is left uncertain whether or not Tristan is simply doing his job.
The interactions between these two characters were written so genuinely it made me fall in love with both of them. There is embarrassment and awkwardness, and charming attempts to not show these emotions, during some of the initial conversation. Then we see the excitement mixed with hesitation when the two are approached by the man who would like to hire them for the evening. Then the emotions explode when the two of them are actually together in bed. There is playfulness and teasing along with uncontrollable lust, but also some insecurity and questioning. The emotional blend is mixed together perfectly to create the beginnings of a relationship I am eager to read more about.
