LEATHER AND STEEL is a brief, passionate story of heartache, loss, honesty, and reconnection.
After fifteen years away, Skye returns to her hometown for the funeral of her best friend's father. She is shocked to run into Brock, the very man that caused her hasty departure all those years ago. Skye had big plans for her life and, at twenty-one, the seriousness of her relationship with Brock scared her away. Her fear of finding Brock happy with someone else kept Skye from ever attempting to reconnect with him.
When the two come face to face they are both hit with a rush of emotions. They are both still wildly attracted to one another but Brock is still holding on to his pain from Skye leaving him without warning and Skye is filled with regret over leaving. Brock decides to have one steamy night with Skye to finally get her out of his system, but that plan backfires. The emotions that are stirred up during their night together force both of them to admit their true feelings.
Sweet, hot, and emotional. A great, quick read in which the author portrays these wonderfully strong emotions so honestly that I cared about the characters and what happened to them.
