THE FETISH BOX: OPEN ALL NIGHT was a great introduction to what I believe could be an amazing story of sexual exploration.
I was left feeling bewildered and unsatisfied at the end of part one of this story. But I can't wait to pick up part two. Part one just gave these teasing little glimpses into a few main characters and the adventures that may possibly lie ahead of them. Since I don't have part two yet, I am forced to write this review solely based on part one, and give it only 3 stars.
Mary has just inherited a house, a sex shop, and half of a bar from her estranged mother. While she contemplated turning the whole inheritance down, she decided she was ready to branch out and explore what more life may have to offer her. So, she packs her bags and moves from California to Florida where she immediately meets two of her mother's friends and business partners, Max and John. Mary finds herself attracted to both men on sight and begins imagining being with both of them--even though she has never had sex with anyone before.
Mary gets a brief glimpse into her mother's life and into the sex shop business, and she gets propositioned by the two new men in her life, but that's about all that happens. We don't learn much about Max or John, but the author does a good job of making them seem appealing and mysterious. I also felt the character of Mary, and her desire to explore hidden parts of herself, was written well.
So, while part one alone did not garner a high rating, I am very anxious to pick up part two.
