A Shot in the Dark

Let me start by saying that I can't wait to get my hands on the third book in this fun and sexy series.  A Shot in the Dark is the second book about the Long siblings, focusing on Paige, the oldest.  Paige is three years out of an abusive relationship that made her question her every thought and desire.  Her dominating, abusive ex-boyfriend took advantage of Paige and caused her to shut down her emotional and sexual desires and build a wall to block others out.
But then Paige meets Carter who wants to help her break some of that wall down.  However, the task is not an easy one because Carter also has a domineering personality.  Carter has to get Paige to trust him by showing her that domineering does not equal mean and abusive.
While Paige and Carter's relationship is developing we also get to see more interactions between Paige, Sadie, and Ian.  These siblings are getting to know and understand each other on a deeper level.  Meanwhile, Ian's personal life has taken a turn for the worse- which I will have to wait to read about in the next book (darn it)!
