I have recently been introduced to the town and people of Fool's Gold- a series by Susan Mallery. This small town in California is a typical small town in that gossip spreads like wildfire and everyone knows everything going on with everyone else. The town is atypical in it's lack of men- which is such a fresh and different spin on small-town troubles that it is great fun to read. I read all 3 books in a matter of days and can't wait for the next three.
In Chasing Perfect, Charity moves to Fool's Gold for her new job. Little does she know that she has an unknown history with the town, an unknown job goal, and that she will find love with "Mr. Perfect," Josh.
In Almost Perfect, Liz finds herself back in Fool's Gold, the town she grew up in and got away from as fast as possible. She also finds herself reconnecting with her first love, Ethan. Their turbulent history creates constant roadblocks to them once again finding happiness.
In Finding Perfect, Pia is presented with an unthinkable decision after the death of her best friend. There to help her with this decision is Raoul, the emotionally shut-down, new guy in town.
The town itself is a character in all three books. The gossip, the nosiness, the lack of secrecy, but also the support, the love, and the sense of community. Fun books, I recommend them.
